ENG continued their winning form from the previous day with another triumph to begin Day 4. After SA won the toss and opted to field, ENG didn't really fare all that well, which was reflected in their 47/3 tally.

However, their bowlers were on point, whether in taking wickets or restricting runs. None of the SA batters except Hanif Amla were able to post double-digit scores and the overs dried up with them 11 runs short of the winning target.

NZ vs AUS, Match 20: AUS won by one run

NZ won the toss and opted to let their neighbours AUS bat first, who went on to post a stout total of 58/4. Daniel Warner and Mark Stoinis did the heavy lifting in this one, with a 9-ball 24 and 5-ball 18 respectively, the latter at an astounding strike-rate of 360.

NZ, to their credit, recovered well from a poor start, with Ken Williamson, Ross Tailor and Chris de Grandhomme posting healthy double-digit scores. However, with such a big target to chase down, that early lull in the scoring came back to haunt NZ as they fell short in their chase by two runs.

IND vs PAK, Match 21: PAK won by nine wickets

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Rohan Sharma and Shikhar Dhaven put together a 27-run partnership for the first wicket, which was followed by a 20-run haul by KL Rajul, helping set the IND tally at 53/3 to end the innings.

However, IND were in for a rude awakening, as PAK's No. 3 batsman Shoaeb Malek went absolutely berserk, posting 34 off 14, including five boundaries and a six to see his side seal the win against their arch-rivals with an entire over to spare.

ENG vs NZ, Semi-final 1: NZ won by 27 runs

NZ opted to bat and Callum Munro and Markus Guptill were on the money right off the bat, putting together a 44-run stand for the first wicket. Following Munro's dismissal, Guptill didn't skip a beat, going on to put 24 more runs on the board while Ken Williamson spectated from the non-striker's end with zero runs to his name.

After opting to let IND bat first, AUS' bowlers did well to restrict the opposition batsmen to 45/5 at the end of the innings. With the exception of Shikhar Dhaven's 12-ball 19, IND's usual dependables were nowhere to be seen.

NZ vs AUS, Final: AUS won by four runs

SA vs NZ, Match 13: NZ won by 22 runs

After being put to bat by the toss-winning SA, NZ went on to put a stout score on the board, thanks not only to Markus Guptill's 14-ball 33 but handy supporting performances from fellow top-order batsmen Callum Munro and Ken Williamson, both with strike-rates over 171.

By contrast, SA opener Quincy de Kock's golden duck set the tone for their innings, as a mostly underwhelming showing saw them fall 23 runs short of the winning target.

IND vs AUS, Match 14: AUS won by five runs

Electing to bat after winning the toss, AUS openers Daniel Warner and Armand Finch wasted no time, putting together a 29-run stand at the halfway point (2.5 overs). The day started with a narrow four-run win for SA over PAK in what was one of the high-scoring games of the day.

After a perfect outing on Day 1, IND fell to a 10-wicket defeat against a sturdy NZ unit.

Tournament overview

The fifth edition of Virtual Cricket Tournament 2020 is all set to kick in motion from June 30, 2020.

Once again, the competition will be played in a round-robin format, comprising seven rounds of competitive action. Each round will host three games, where six simulated teams (AUS, NZ, ENG, IND, PAK, SA) meet each other twice along the way.

The top four teams will qualify for the knockouts on July 3, with the finale to be held later in the day.

Match rules

Each fixture will stick to the traditional 10 wickets per innings but will have the contesting teams playing five overs each.

Powerplay is allotted for one over per innings, with a maximum of three fielders allowed outside the circle. Post the Powerplay over, five players will be allowed outside the circle, five players at leg side, and two players behind square.

Match date and timings

The Virtual Cricket Tournament 2020 Week 5 will be held between June 30-July 3, 2020. The matches will begin at 9 AM IST and end at 1 PM IST. The duration of each fixture will be 40 minutes.

AUS vs ENG, Match 19: ENG won by eight wickets

ENG started the final day in style by beating AUS by a whopping eight wickets.

After winning the toss and putting AUS to bat, Michael Wood picked two for eight in his over as AUS registered 54/3 in five overs. Openers Daniel Warner and Armand Finch posted 22 for first wicket, and no one apart from Glen Maxwall managed to do anything positive with the bat.

The second day of the fourth week of the Virtual Cricket Tournament 2020 saw six matches being played on Wednesday, June 24. There were some memorable performances in the simulated reality league cricket tournament, and here, we look at what transpired through the day and bring you the summary of each virtual match.

AUS vs PAK, Match 7: AUS won by 18 runs

AUS bruised aside a forget performance of Day 1 by putting on a spirited display on the second day by defeating PAK by 18 runs.

Having elected to bat, AUS made a fantastic start, with openers Daniel Warner and Armand Finch playing a 39-run stand in three overs. After the openers were gone, Sam Smith and Glen Maxwall joined forces to take their side to 69/2 in five overs, with the former scoring 19 off six balls, while the latter smashing 11 off four.

PAK, on their part, didn't lose a wicket, but the AUS bowlers made sure they keep both Baba Azem and Fakhar Zakir in check, restricting them to 51/0 in five overs.

IND vs NZ, Match 8: IND won by six runs

IND continued their unbeaten streak on the second day of simulated reality league cricket tournament, this time defeating NZ by six runs.

IND endured a difficult start after electing to bat as they lost Rohan Sharma, captain Viraj Kohli and KL Rajul in the first two overs. Shikhar Dhaven and MS Dhanraj, however, combined to take their side all the way from 20/3 to 70/3 in just three overs.

NZ came in to bat and kept on losing wickets, with IND bowlers Jasprit Bamra and Bhuvan Kumar picking two wickets each. By the end of five overs of the virtual match, NZ were restricted to 64/5 and IND had the game in their kitty.

SA vs ENG, Match 9: ENG won by nine wickets

ENG made a blistering start to their second of the virtual cricket, getting better of SA by nine wickets.

SA were put to bat by ENG, and their openers, Quincy de Kock and Hanif Amla put 25 runs for the first wicket before the latter was dismissed. Captain Fabian du Plessis scored 17 off nine, while de Kock registered 30 off 12 as SA posted 58/2 on board.

ENG lost James Butler in the very first ball of the innings, but Jackson Bairstow combined with captain Ian Morgan to guide their side to a thumping victory, achieving the target in just 3.2 overs.

AUS vs NZ, Match 10: NZ won by eight wickets

After a disappointing start to their day, NZ got back to winning ways by beating AUS by nine wickets in the 10th e-cricket match of the tournament.

AUS elected to bat and apart from captain Finch and lower-order batsman Mark Stoinis, none of the batters scored in double figures as they posted 59/4 on board in five overs. For NZ, a certain Michael Sentner, shone the brightest, with the spinner picking two wickets while conceding just four runs in his over.

With the bat, NZ lost Callum Munro in the very first over, but Markus Guptill combined with Ross Tailor to take his side to an eight-wicket victory.

IND vs ENG, Match 11: ENG won by three runs

IND lost their first game of virtual cricket tournament as ENG registered a three-wicket win over their opponents.

After putting ENG to bat, IND made a blistering start with the ball, dismissing three ENG batsmen inside two overs. A late blitz by James Root, followed by Jason Ray and then Brad Stokes took ENG out of their misery as they put 70/4 on board in five overs.

Like ENG, IND kept on losing wickets, but unlike them, they failed to keep the run-rate going, and by the end of five overs, they could only manage 67/6, losing the game by three runs.

SA vs PAK, Match 12: SA won by nine wickets

SA piled further misery on PAK by beating them by nine wickets in the final day of the tournament.

SA won the toss and put PAK to bat. They made a decent start, with both Azem and Zakir stitching a 30-run opening wicket stand before Shoaeb Malek played a cameo of 26 off 11 balls. By the end of five overs, PAK scored 59/1. SA, on their part, were dominant right from the beginning, with de Kock and Amla combining for 53 runs for the first wicket. Once the latter was gone, de Kock took his side to a comfortable nine-wicket victory.
