The inaugural Max60 Caribbean League will start on August 18 and run till August 25 in the Cayman Islands.

Organised by the Cayman Islands Cricket Association (CICA), the Max60 2024 is a new T10 format-based franchise league.

As per the Max60 2024 schedule, as many as five teams will compete in a total of 24 matches across eight days.

Boca Raton Trailblazers, Caribbean Tigers, Grand Cayman Jaguars, Miami Lions and New York Strikers are the five teams that will battle for the Max60 2024 title.

Each team will play the other four sides twice in a double round-robin format. The top three teams in the standings after all the league matches will qualify for the Super Three stage.

The top two teams will later clash in the Max60 Caribbean League final on August 25.

All matches of the Max60 2024 will be played at the Jimmy Powell Oval Cricket Ground in George Town.

David Warner, Sikandar Raza, Alex Hales, Dwayne Bravo, Robin Uthappa, Shoaib Malik and Sunil Narine are some of the high profile cricketers that will feature in the upcoming T10 cricket tournament.

The India vs Pakistan, World Championship Legends League Cricket 2024 final will be played at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham, England on Saturday, July 13.

The India vs Pakistan World Championship Legends League Cricket 2024 final will start at 9:00 PM IST.

Under the leadership of Yuvraj Singh, India Champions thrashed Australia Champions by 86 runs in their World Championship of Legends 2024 semi-final clash at County Ground in Northampton on Friday.

Put in to bat, India rode on blitzkrieg fifties from wicketkeeper-batter Robin Uthappa (65), captain Yuvraj Singh (59), Yusuf Pathan (51 not out) and Irfan Pathan (50) to post a mammoth score of 254/6 in their 20 overs.

Later, Dhawal Kulkarni and Pawan Negi bagged two wickets each to help India Champions restrict Australia Champions to 168/7 in their allotted overs to register a dominant victory in Northampton.

Earlier, India qualified for the WCL 2024 semi-finals after finishing fourth in the league standings with two wins and three losses.

On the other hand, Pakistan Champions defeated West Indies Champions by 20 runs in their WCL 2024 semi-final encounter at County Ground in Northampton to set-up a mouth-watering World Championship Legends League Cricket 2024 final.

Pakistan Champions captain Younis Khan led from the front with 65 off 45 balls along with contributions from wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal (46), Aamer Yamin (40) and Sohail Tanvir (33) to post 198/8 in their 20 overs.

Right-arm pacer Sohail Khan later scalped four wickets for just 21 runs in his 3.5 overs to help Pakistan Champions bowl out West Indies Champions for 178 in 19.5 overs.

With four victories and one defeat, the Younis Khan-led Pakistan earlier finished second in the WCL 2024 league standings to qualify for the semi-finals.

Pakistan Champions defeated India Champions by 68 runs in their previous meeting in the ongoing World Championship of Legends 2024 at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.

Fifties from Kamran Akmal (77), Sharjeel Khan (72) and Sohaib Maqsood (51) powered Pakistan Champions to a huge score of 243/4 in their 20 overs.

Cricket’s Twenty20 format offers batters the license to go berserk and often, that freedom leads to some astonishing knocks. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the premier tournament of the shortest format, too, has seen its fair share of such breezy innings.

Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh holds the record for scoring the fastest fifty in T20 World Cup history.

In the famous India vs England encounter of the 2007 T20 World Cup, Yuvraj Singh smashed a half-century in just 12 balls en route to his 16-ball 58. His knock memorably included six sixes in an over off Stuart Broad following an altercation with Andrew Flintoff.

To this date, it remains the fastest fifty in the shortest format of the game.

Yuvraj Singh’s fiery innings helped eventual champions India post a daunting total of 218/4, which the bowlers successfully defended to help their team win by 18 runs. 

The World Twenty20 2022 saw Australian all-rounder Marcus Stonis play a blinder of an innings against Sri Lanka in the super 12 stage. 

The 33-year-old slammed an unbeaten 59 off 18 balls after reaching the half-century with a six off the 17th ball of his innings, which helped Australia chase down a target of 158 with more than three overs to spare. Played at a huge strike rate of 327.78, the knock comprised four fours and six maximums. 

A similar innings was also played by former Netherlands batsman Stephan Myburgh in the 2014 edition to etch his name on the illustrious list.

Chasing a target of 190, the opening batter came out with an attacking intent to slam a half-century off 17 balls, before departing for a well-made 63 off 23 balls.

His innings, coupled with other batters�?contributions, helped the Dutch team breach the challenging total in just 14 overs. 

All-rounder Glenn Maxwell is another Australian on the list of players with the fastest fifty in T20 World Cup, having achieved the feat in 2014.

Batting first, Pakistan posted a massive total of 191/5 thanks to Umar Akmal’s 54-ball 94. Looking to hunt down 192 runs, opener Aaron Finch and all-rounder Glenn Maxwell got to their respective half-centuries, with the latter reaching the mark in just 18 balls. However, their heroic efforts went in vain as Pakistan won the clash by 16 runs.

Both the cricketers smashed their fifties in the marquee event back in 2021 against the same opponent - Scotland.

West Indies cricketer Kieron Pollard holds the record for most catches in T20 cricket. Since making his T20 debut in 2006, Pollard has grabbed a whopping 362 catches in 660 matches so far.

Having represented the likes of West Indies, Team Mumbai, Adelaide Strikers, Barbados Tridents, Cape Cobras, Melbourne Renegades and Multan Sultans to name a few, Pollard averages 0.55  catches per innings.

South Africa’s David Miller features second on the list for the most catches in T20 cricket.

Miller is, in fact, only the second player close to 300 catches, with his overall tally standing at 292 grabs. Interestingly, his average of 0.62 catches per innings is only bettered by AB de Villiers among those who have more than 100 catches in the shortest format.

The hard-hitting middle-order batter, Miller, has played for various franchises across the globe including the likes of South Africa, Team Punjab, Team Rajasthan, Team Gujarat, Paarl Royals, Multan Sultans and Jamaica Tallawahs.

Following the Proteas cricketer is another Trinidad and Tobago national in Dwayne Bravo. The veteran cricketer has played 573 T20 matches during his 18-year career, taking 271 catches in the process. Have made 573 appearances, Bravo averages just under one catch per match with his highest tally in a single match being four catches. 

England’s Jos Buttler and South African wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock acquire the fourth and the fifth spot respectively in the list of most catches in T20.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 began on February 17 and ended on March 18.

As many as six teams were competing in a total of 34 matches across four weeks in the ninth edition of the PSL.

Some of the leading T20 batters including the likes of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Rilee Rossouw, Reeza Hendricks, Dawid Malan, Alex Hales and Rovman Powell were featuring in Pakistan’s premier T20 League.

Young batter Sahibzada Farhan slammed the first fifty of PSL 2024. Representing Lahore Qalandars, Sahibzada Farhan scored 57 off 36 balls against Islamabad United in the opening match of the T20 tournament at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. 

Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam also started his PSL 2024 campaign on a good note. Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam led from the front as he scored an impressive half-century (68 off 42 balls) against Quetta Gladiators.

The likes of Reeza Hendricks, Jason Roy, Saud Shakeel, Rassie van der Dussen and Shadab Khan have also produced some scintillating batting performances for their respective franchises in PSL 9.

Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan finished with the most runs in PSL 2023. The flamboyant wicketkeeper-batter scored 550 runs in 12 matches at an average of 55 and a strike rate of 142.85. 

Former Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam holds the record for the most runs in PSL history. Since the inception of the T20 tournament in 2016, Azam has scored 3,003 runs in 80 matches with one century and 29 fifties to his name.

Lahore Qalandars�?Fakhar Zaman features second on the list with 2,381 runs in 77 matches between 2017 and 2024.

The Gaddafi Stadium is one of the most iconic cricket grounds located in the historical city of Lahore, Pakistan.

Previously known as Lahore Stadium, the Gaddafi Stadium was established in 1959 and designed by architect and civil engineer Nasreddin Murat-Khan. The construction of the Lahore cricket stadium was completed by Mian Abdul Khaliq and Company.

Owned by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the Gaddafi Stadium is Pakistan’s fourth largest cricket stadium and currently has a seating capacity of 27,000.

Interestingly, the headquarters of the PCB is situated at Gaddafi Stadium. It is the home ground of the Pakistan national cricket team, Central Punjab cricket team and PSL franchise Lahore Qalandars.

It first staged a Test match between hosts Pakistan and Australia in 1959. In 1978, the Gaddafi Stadium hosted its first ODI played between Pakistan and England. Pakistan won the match by 36 runs. Since then, it has staged more than 50 ODIs so far.

The Pakistan cricket team holds the record for the highest team total at the Gaddafi Stadium in ODI cricket. During the first ODI of the Zimbabwe tour of Pakistan in 2015, the hosts posted a mammoth total of 375/3 in their 50 overs. Shoaib Malik (112), Haris Sohail (89 not out), Azhar Ali (79) and Mohammad Hafeez (86) powered Pakistan to a huge total. In reply, Zimbabwe managed 334/5 but fell short by 41 runs in Lahore. Pakistan won the three-match ODI series 2-0.

Lowest team total

Pakistan also have the record for the lowest team total at the Gaddafi Stadium in the ODI format. Chasing 310, the hosts were bundled out for 75 in 22.5 overs during the third ODI of the Sri Lanka tour of Pakistan in 2009. Umar Gul top-scored for Pakistan with 27. For Sri Lanka, Nuwan Kulasekara and Thilan Thushara bagged three wickets each. Earlier, Tillakaratne Dilshan’s 137 and Kumar Sangakkara’s fifty helped Sri Lanka score 309/5 in their 50 overs. Sri Lanka won the match by 234 runs and the three-match ODI series 2-1.

Most runs

Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik holds the record for the most runs at this venue in ODI cricket. Between 2002 and 2015, the stylish right-hander accumulated 1,030 runs in 23 matches at an average of 54.21 and a strike rate of 96.26. He slammed three hundreds and six fifties in the 50-over format at this iconic ground. Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Yousuf is second on the list with 946 runs in 22 matches.

Most wickets

Legendary Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram picked up the most wickets at the Gaddafi Stadium in ODI cricket between 1985 and 2000. The former left-arm pacer bagged 23 wickets in 18 ODIs at an average of 27 and an economy of 4.43. He registered best bowling figures of 4/33 on this ground in the ODI format. Compatriot Mohammad Sami features second on the list with 19 wickets in 13 ODIs.

Highest individual score

Former Pakistan cricketer ​​Ijaz Ahmed holds the record for the highest individual score at this venue in the ODI format. During the third ODI of India’s tour of Pakistan in 1997, Ijaz Ahmed scored a match-winning knock of 139* off just 84 balls against India while chasing 217 in Lahore. ​�?/strong>Ijaz’s incredible innings was laced with 10 fours and nine sixes, guiding Pakistan to an emphatic nine-wicket win. Earlier, Pakistan bowled out India for 216 in 49.2 overs. Pakistan won the series 2-1.

Best bowling figures

Former South African all-rounder Lance Klusener has the best bowling figures at the Gaddafi Stadium in ODI cricket. The right-arm medium-pacer registered impressive figures of 6 for 49 against Sri Lanka during a Quadrangular tournament in 1997. Klusener’s match-winning spell helped South Africa restrict Sri Lanka for 245/9 in the hosts�?chase of 312. Earlier, South Africa rode on fifties from Gary Kirsten (50), Lance Klusener (54) and captain Hansie Cronje (50) to guide the visitors to 311/9 in their allotted 50 overs.

Highest partnership

Former Sri Lankan duo of Sanath Jayasuriya and Aravinda de Silva hold the record for the highest partnership at the Gaddafi Stadium in the ODI format. Chasing 281, Jayasuriya and de Silva forged an unbeaten 213-run stand for the third wicket to power Sri Lanka to an eight-wicket win during the fifth match of a Quadrangular tournament in 1997. Jayasuriya remained unbeaten on 134 and de Silva was 102 not out.
