The Pro Kabaddi Most Valuable Player (MVP) award is won by players who perform exceptionally well throughout the season.

Since the inception of Pro Kabaddi in 2014, six players across eight seasons have won the award with raiders predominantly dominating the list.

Of all the kabaddi players on the Pro Kabaddi MVP list, only Pardeep Narwal and Naveen Kumar have managed to win the award twice. While Pardeep won the prestigious award in Season 4 and 5 of PKL, Naveen Kumar won in Season 7 and Season 8 respectively.

Meanwhile, Asian Gold medalist Manjeet Chhillar is the only all-rounder to have won the MVP award.

Here are the players on the Pro Kabaddi MVP list.

Pro Kabaddi Season 1 MVP: Anup Kumar

The first captain for the U Mumba team, Anup Kumar, was the standout performer in the inaugural season of the Pro Kabaddi with 169 points. His tally of 155 raid points in Season 1 were the most points by any raider for the first four seasons until Pardeep Narwal broke the record in Season 5 (2017).

The 2016 Kabaddi World Cup winner led U Mumbai to the final, although they lost 35-24 to Jaipur Pink Panthers in a riveting clash.

Pro Kabaddi Season 2 MVP: Manjeet Chhillar

Manjeet Chhillar won the Pro Kabaddi MVP award in Season 2 for his all-round performance with the Bengaluru Bulls. The all-rounder - who finished with 107 points (67 raid points, 40 tackle points) - is the only player in Pro Kabaddi history to feature in the top 10 list for both best raiders and defenders in a single edition.

Despite battling health issues during the league stage, Manjeet was the driving force for the Bulls en-route to the PKL final against U Mumba. Back then, his tally of 11 points was the most by any player in the Season 2 PKL final, but the Bengaluru Bulls star ended on the losing side by a twist of fate.

Manjeet Chhillar continues to hold the records for most tackle points (339) and most successful tackles (324) in Pro Kabaddi.

Pro Kabaddi Season 3 MVP: Rohit Kumar

Rohit Kumar is fondly remembered as the first MVP winner of a PKL-winning team. Rohit, known for his ruthless attacking and superb flexibility on the mat, capped a memorable debut season in the Pro Kabaddi as he pioneered Patna Pirates to the title in 2016.

He tallied 102 raid points in 12 matches, averaging 8.5 raid points per match. This was one of the key reasons he was awarded the PKL MVP award.

The raider, now plying his trade with Telugu Titans, has amassed 100 points in every PKL season since his debut in Pro Kabaddi Season 3.

Pro Kabaddi Season 4 MVP: Pardeep Narwal

Season 4 marked the arrival of Pardeep Narwal as a prolific raider. The former Patna Pirates star, who registered 116 raid points with 10 Super Raids in Season 3, upped the ante in Pro Kabaddi Season 4 by tallying 133 points.

The Haryana raider developed his signature move ‘Dubki?in PKL Season 4, as he racked up five Super 10s and completed three Super Raids in 16 matches to pioneer Patna to their second successive final.

Pro Kabaddi Season 5 MVP: Pardeep Narwal

Pardeep Narwal broke not just one but five records in a historic PKL Season 5 with Patna Pirates. The Haryana-born raider went past Anup Kumar for most raid points in a single campaign whilst playing the 12th match of the season.

Going forward, Pardeep went on to script history by tallying the most total points in a season (369 points), most successful raids (271), most super raids (18) and most super 10s (19).

Pardeep Narwal averaged a mammoth 14.19 raid points per match in PKL Season 5.

Against the Haryana Steelers in Eliminator 2, Pardeep Narwal completed a historic raid worth eight points, as he managed to get six defenders out and secured two all-out points as well. In all, the ?/span>Dubki King?registered a record 34-point haul in the match.

Pro Kabaddi Season 6 MVP: Pawan Sehrawat

Of all his performances in PKL Season 6, Pawan Sehrawat will be remembered for spearheading Bengaluru Bulls?comeback in the final against the Gujarat Giants (formerly known as Gujarat Fortunegiants).

The Bulls were eight points behind with just 18 minutes left in the final, but a spectacular performance in the second half saw Sehrawat turn around the contest in his team’s favour and end the match with 22 points - the most by any kabaddi player in a PKL final.

Pawan Sehrawat earned the MVP award as he finished the campaign as the leading raid-point scorer (271) and registered the most Super Raids (12) in the entire season.

Pro Kabaddi Season 7 MVP: Naveen Kumar

After a splendid debut campaign with Dabang Delhi K.C. in Season 6, Naveen Kumar continued his stellar form in PKL Season 7 with 303 points in 23 matches.

But what was more outstanding is that the young kabaddi player registered 22 Super 10s in the campaign, breaking the previous record set by Pardeep Narwal in Season 5.

A raider with speed, strength, agility and tact, Naveen Kumar averaged a staggering 13.08 raid points per game in Pro Kabaddi Season 7. By the end of the campaign, he became the youngest player to score 300 raid points in a single Pro Kabaddi season.

Pro Kabaddi Season 8 MVP: Naveen Kumar

Naveen Kumar became only the second player in Pro Kabaddi after Pardeep Narwal to win the MVP award of the season twice. Naveen's 207 raid points across 17 PKL matches in Season 8 played a key role in Dabang Delhi K.C. winning their maiden Pro Kabaddi title.

Naveen Kumar scored 12 super 10s in PKL Season 8 with seven of them coming in succession.

Puneri Paltans (PUN) will take on Bengaluru Bulls (HAR) in match 29 of Pro Kabaddi Season 8 at Sheraton Grand Whitefield, Bengaluru on Sunday, January 2.

PUN vs BLR Dream11 prediction

Bengaluru Bulls have won three games on the trot since their season-opening loss, and thus, are favourites to win the match-up against Puneri Paltan in PKL season 8. Riding on the sheer brilliance of Pawan Kumar Sehrawat, the Bulls are third on the Pro Kabaddi standings with 15 points from four games at the time of writing.

Puneri, on the flip side, are rock-bottom on the points table. The likes of Rahul Chaudhari and Sanket Sawant have struggled to make a strong impact on the mat resulting in the team winning just once in four outings.

PUN vs BLR Dream11 team tips for Pro Kabaddi Season 8

Top tip: Best raider

It goes without saying that Pawan Kumar Sehrawat must be the first-choice raider for fantasy players. The Bengaluru Bulls star has been in top form this season with 58 points, including three Super 10s in four matches. Sehrawat - one of PKL’s most prolific raiders - has grabbed 55 raid points from 46 successful raids and will be eager to make the most of Puneri Paltan’s defensive woes.

Top tip: Best defender

Abinesh Nadarajan will have a daunting task at hand to keep the likes of Pawan Sehrawat at bay in the PUN vs BLR match in PKL 2021-22. The young Puneri Paltan defender registered three tackle points in the defeat to Tamil Thalaivas, but will need to produce a stellar performance to deny Sehrawat registering another Super 10 on the trot.

Top tip: Best all-rounder

Puneri Paltan's Aslam Inamdar is the all-rounder to watch out for. Although listed as a raider, Inamdar enters this match-up with a 50 per cent tackle success rate and an average of 1.5 tackles per game. As a raider, the PUN man has amassed 17 raid points from 46 raids. Fantasy players can bank on Aslam Inamdar to put out an optimistic performance against season six champions Bengaluru Bulls on Sunday.

PUN vs BLR probable starting lineups

PUN starting 7 (probable): Pankaj Mohite, Rahul Chaudhari, Abinesh Nadarajan, Sanket Sawant, Sombir, Vishal Bhardwaj, Aslam Inamdar

BLR starting 7 (probable): Chandran Ranjit, Pawan Kumar Sehrawat, Mayur Kadam, Mahender Singh, Saurabh Nandal, Bharat, Aman

Perhaps the best all-rounder in kabaddi at the moment, no one has successfully executed more Super Tackles than Sandeep Narwal (28) in Pro Kabaddi history. Fourth in the all-time leaderboard for Tackle Points (310), Sandeep is just as electrifying on the other end of the mat and has 249 Raid Points to his name.

The dynamic all-rounder who loves a mean block and dash while defending recently revealed his kabaddi dream team in an Instagram Live on the PKL’s official handle and here we look at the players he chose to be a part of the team, having already picked himself.

Corners ?Amit Hooda and Joginder Narwal

Sandeep chose Joginder Narwal to captain his dream team and it doesn’t come much of surprise for those who follow the sport closely. Not the most flamboyant player on the mat, Joginder is someone who likes to lead by example. Excellent at organizing defences, he may not always feature among the points but brings a calming and assuring presence for his teammates on the mat. An experienced head, Joginder has scored 173 Tackle Points during his PKL career.

Amit Hooda is another experienced corner that any team would love to have. The second-best defender in the league in Season 4 with 51 Tackle Points, Hooda’s anticipation and ability to time his tackles perfectly make him a nightmare for raiders to deal with. One of just 17 defenders to have more than 10 High 5s in league history, Hooda’s managed to score five tackle points or more in a match 12 times. He has 237 Tackle Points and maintained a tackle strike rate of more than 50 per cent over the years.

Covers ?Surjeet Singh and Manjeet Chhillar

The cover combination of Surjeet Singh and Manjeet Chhillar is one of the best in Pro Kabaddi history and it’s difficult to think of a better duo to play in these positions. Manjeet tops the leaderboard for most Tackle Points (339) and Surjeet isn’t far behind in fifth spot with 278 points.

The second season’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) and a two-time Best Defender in the PKL, Manjeet’s decision-making and vice-like grip make him the tormentor-in-chief for opposition raiders. A formidable frame on the mat and good at reading the play as well, Manjeet’s dashes are often like poetry in motion and generally bad news if you are a raider.

Surjeet, meanwhile, will go down in history as one of the best Right Cover defenders to have ever played the game. Well-adept when deployed as a Left Cover too, he’s just one of two Cover defenders to feature in the top 15 Tackle Points scorers in league history and is the sole Cover defender to notch a minimum of 50 Tackle Points in the last three PKL campaigns.

Raiders ?Pawan Sehrawat and Rohit Kumar

Teammates at Bengaluru Bulls, the superstar pairing of Pawan Sehrawat and Rohit Kumar are no strangers when it comes to raiding and wreaking havoc on opponents in tandem. Seventh on the leaderboard for Raid Points (670), Rohit helped Patna Pirates to the PKL crown in the third season and was also adjudged the MVP for the campaign. Unstoppable when in full flight, Rohit’s capable of single-handedly beating any team on his day.

Sehrawat, though, stands a class apart from the other raiders in the league. His breakout season was the sixth edition of the PKL when he notched 282 Raid Points to help Bengaluru Bulls to their maiden title. Sehrawat was named the MVP for his efforts that season and followed it up by scoring 360 in the seventh edition of the league, secondly only to Pardeep Narwal that season ?the league’s all-time leading scorer.

Last season saw him break the record for most points in a game. Sehrawat scored 39 points against Haryana Steelers, besting the previous best mark of 34, which was set by Pardeep in the fifth season. A player who thrives under pressure, Sehrawat (26) is second only to Pardeep (53) when it comes to Super Raids as well.

A former MVP and a two-time Best Defender Award winner, Tamil Thalaivas' Manjeet Chhillar is one of the greats of Pro Kabaddi and continues to be a solid player in the league.

Manjeet is the league's leading tackle point-scorer with 339 and is one of only two all-rounders to score over 200 raid points and 300 tackle points alongside U Mumba’s Sandeep Narwal.

The veteran has played with and against the best that PKL has had to offer and is a reliable authority on who the league's best players have been. So, when Manjeet picked his Pro Kabaddi Dream Team, it was bound to be a special unit filled to the brim with talent.

Manjeet picked himself to play as the Left Cover and here are his remaining six picks:

Cover ?Surjeet Singh

With himself slotted in the Left Cover position, Manjeet opted for Surjeet Singh to partner him as the Right Cover in his team.

A stalwart of Indian kabaddi, Surjeet is one of the finest Cover defenders in the Pro Kabaddi league. The Puneri Paltan skipper is the highest-scoring Cover defender in league history and is also the only Cover defender to feature in the top 10 tackle point-scorers in PKL history (Manjeet Chhillar is also a Cover defender that is in the top 10 tackle point-scorers, however, he started and played a large chunk of his career as a Corner defender).

Corners ?Ravinder Pahal and Joginder Narwal

For the two Corner slots, Manjeet picked Dabang Delhi duo Ravinder Pahal and Joginder Narwal.

Right Corner Pahal has been ever-present in the Pro Kabaddi League and is a former Best Defender Award winner, finishing as the league's leading tackle point-scorer in Season 2. The Hawk, as he is fondly known, has scored 326 tackle points in his Pro Kabaddi career, trailing only Manjeet, who leads the league with 339.

A terrific leader, a respected figure and a stellar Left Corner, Joginder Narwal may be in the twilight of his career as a player but still continues to be an extremely reliable defender in the toughest defensive position in kabaddi. Joginder has scored 173 tackle points in his PKL career, which ranks just outside the top 20 in league history.

Raiders ?Vikash Kandola, Pawan Sehrawat and Pardeep Narwal

For the three raiding spots in the team, Manjeet picked Haryana Steelers' Vikash Kandola, Bengaluru Bulls' Pawan Sehrawat and Patna Pirates' Pardeep Narwal.

After two seasons of playing an excellent backup raider, Haryana Steelers promoted Vikash Kandola to lead the team’s raiding unit in Season 7 and the youngster did not disappoint, scoring 190 raid points in 20 matches, which included 11 Super 10s, the fourth-most in the league. Kandola is one of the rising stars in the PKL and it comes as little surprise that Manjeet picked up this wily raider to be the third-choice in his team.

In Sehrawat and Narwal, Manjeet picked two raiders that have scored a combined 1842 raid points, 90 Super 10s, 79 Super Raids and won three best Raider Awards, three MVPs and four PKL titles.

The duo are by far the two best and most accomplished raiders in PKL history and it truly was a no-brainer for Manjeet to pick them in his Dream Team.

Due to the league’s auction rules, it is an incredibly rare sight to see a player in the Pro Kabaddi league spend multiple seasons with the same team.

A handful of top players have, however, managed to stay with the same side for a number of years and build their status as not just incredible kabaddi players but also leave a legacy at their team.

Below, we take a look at the players who lead franchises in points scored, starting with the first six teams in alphabetical order.

Bengal Warriors ?Maninder Singh

Current skipper Maninder Singh led the way for the Bengal Warriors with 603 points in just 65 matches, a tremendous average of 9.27 points. Interestingly, Maninder only took over from previous leader Jang Kun Lee in Season 7. The Korean, who spent six seasons with the franchise, scored 411 points in his time with the team.

Bengaluru Bulls ?Pawan Sehrawat

With 673 points, Season 6 MVP and the reigning Best Raider Pawan Sehrawat is the Bengaluru Bulls?all-time leading scorer. Off those 673, Sehrawat has scored 617 in the last two campaigns with the other 55 coming in his first stint with the team in Season 3 and 4.

Dabang Delhi K.C. ?Naveen Kumar

Reigning PKL MVP Naveen Kumar is Dabang Delhi K.C.’s all-time leading scorer with 480 points. The young sensation has played just 45 matches for the team and scored his points at an incredible average of 10.66. Previously, Kashiling Adake was the team’s leading scorer with 406 points.

Gujarat Fortunegiants ?Sachin Tanwar

Raider Sachin Tanwar has been with Gujarat Fortunegiants since their debut and is their all-time leading scorer with 462 points in 63 matches. Tanwar scored 159 points in his debut campaign in Season 5 and was named the Best Debutant of the season.

Haryana Steelers ?Vikash Kandola

Vikash Kandola has risen from a young and promising raider to one of the best in the PKL. Kandola scored 195 points in Season 7, taking his tally to 430 points in 51 matches for the Steelers. The raider is well clear of next best Prashant Kumar Rai, who has scored 171 for the side.

Jaipur Pink Panthers ?Deepak Niwas Hooda and Jasvir Singh

The third-highest scorer in the history of the PKL Deepak Niwas Hooda is Jaipur Pink Panthers?all-time leading scorer with 366 points, alongside former player Jasvir, who spent five seasons with the franchise. Hooda, however, is the team’s most successful raider with 342 points, four more than Jasvir who scored 338 points.

Earlier, we looked at the list of the Pro Kabaddi league’s most efficient defenders in Season 7 and it featured some of the sport’s best.

Likewise, below we look at the raiders, who were not only incredibly prolific in Season 7, but also thoroughly efficient on the mat.

Here are the top five most efficient raiders in Pro Kabaddi Season 7:

(NOTE: This list only features raiders with over 100 raid points in Season 7 of the Pro Kabaddi League)

Pawan Sehrawat - Bengaluru Bulls

The league’s leading raid point scorer was also its most efficient.

The Bengaluru Bulls superstar scored 346 raid points in just 461 raid attempts, giving him an incredible strike rate of 75.05. Sehrawat was the only raider or defender in the league with a strike rate of over 70 in Pro Kabaddi Season 7.

Despite raiding so heavily, Sehrawat still had the highest percentage of successful raids, with 56.83 among players with over 100 raid points in Season 7.

Pardeep Narwal ?Patna Pirates

Pro Kabaddi’s G.O.A.T., Pardeep Narwal was the second most efficient raider in Pro Kabaddi Season 7.

For the first time since Season 3, Pardeep failed to win an individual award at the end of the campaign, as Sehrawat beat him to the Best Raider award while Dabang Delhi K.C.’s Naveen Kumar won the league’s Most Valuable Player award.

Still, Pardeep embarked on another historic campaign. The raider became the first man in Pro Kabaddi history to record multiple campaigns with over 300 raid points. His 302 came in 453 raid attempts, giving him a strike rate of 66.66 percent.

It wasn’t the easiest campaign for Pardeep, however, as the raider was tackled an incredible 109 times, trailing only Sehrawat in that category, who was tackled six more times than Pardeep in more raid attempts. The Patna Pirates ace had the lowest percentage of successful raids among the top 5 raid point scorers of Season 7, with only 51.66.

What helped his strike rate was his league-leading 15 Super Tackles, the second-most by a player in a single Pro Kabaddi campaign, behind Pardeep’s own record of 18 in Season 5.

Siddharth Desai ?Telugu Titans

After a rough start to his campaign in Season 7, Telugu Titans?Siddharth Desai slowly got into his groove and finished the campaign in strong fashion, ending it with 217 raid points.

Desai took 331 raid attempts to score his 217 raid points, giving him a strike rate of 65.55. Desai also boasted of a raid success rate of 53.47, which ranked third in the league among players with 100 raid points, ahead of the likes of Naveen Kumar and Pardeep Narwal.

The Telugu Titans skipper also had the fourth-most multi-point raids in Season 7 with 40, behind Sehrawat (84), Pardeep (68) and Naveen (50).

Maninder Singh ?Bengal Warriors

Despite missing the playoffs, it’s hard to overlook Maninder Singh’s contribution for the Bengal Warriors in Season 7.

Captain Mani led the team with 205 raid points and it took him just 318 raid attempts to score them, giving him a raid strike rate of 64.46. With a raid success rate of 53.77, Maninder ranked only second behind Sehrawat in that category, and his 57 failed raids were the fewest among players with over 150 raid points in Season 7.

Naveen Kumar ?Dabang Delhi K.C.

League MVP Naveen Kumar finished the campaign with 301 raid points, which took him to a league-high 472 raid attempts, giving him a raid strike rate of 63.77.

Naveen’s raid success rate of 53.18 was the fourth-best among players with over 150 raid points. However, his 70 failed raids were the second-fewest among players with over 200 raid points.

Bengaluru Bulls?ace Pawan Sehrawat has been on a roll in the past two Pro Kabaddi league campaigns.

The raider has scored over 600 raid points in the past two campaigns and broke numerous records during this incredible spell.  The raider’s ability to decide games on his own and his innate knack of piling huge scores makes him stand out from his contemporaries on the mat.

The ‘Hi-Flyer?has delivered some mind-boggling performances over the past two campaigns and below, we look at the five best:

39 raid points vs Haryana Steelers

The Haryana Steelers were on the receiving end of a Pardeep Narwal masterclass in Season 5 when the Patna Pirates ace scored a Pro Kabaddi record with 34 points and in Season 7, the Steelers yet again found them in the firing line, this time against Pawan Sehrawat.

The Bengaluru Bulls raider scored a record-breaking 39 points, guiding his side to a 59-36 victory. Sehrawat attempted 38 raids and managed to score at least a point in 36 of those. The raider was tackled only once on the night in what was a performance for the ages.

29 raid points vs Bengal Warriors

Eventual champions Bengal Warriors came into the match against Bengaluru Bulls having won two of their previous three matches by 20 and 31-point margins. The defending champions had their work cut out against the three-pronged raiding unit of Maninder Singh, K. Prapanjan and Mohammad Nabibakhsh. However, Sehrawat was up to the task.

The Bengaluru Bulls raiders scored 29 points in 30 raid attempts, helping his side win by a narrow scoreline of 43-42. Sehrawat scored as many raid points by himself as the Bengal Warriors raiders combined, proving to be the difference in the contest.

22 raid points vs Telugu Titans

In a titanic tryst against Siddharth Desai and the Telugu Titans, Pawan Sehrawat proved yet again why he is the leading raider in the league.

The Bengaluru Bulls?superstar scored 22 raid points to lead his side to a narrow 40-39 victory, despite 22 points from Desai as well. Sehrawat's clutch performance peaked right at the end, managing a two-point raid with the scores tied in the dying moments of the contest, carrying his side past the Titans.

22 raid points vs Gujarat Fortunegiants

Trailing by eight points with just 18 minutes left in the final, Bengaluru Bulls needed someone to step up in the Pro Kabaddi Season 6 final against Gujarat Fortunegiants, and Sehrawat answered his team’s call.

The raider scored 18 points in the second half, 22 in total, to lead Bengaluru Bulls to a 38-33 victory and their maiden Pro Kabaddi title. Sehrawat broke Pardeep Narwal’s record for most points in a final, which he set in Season 5 with 19, also against the Fortunegiants.

20 points vs Tamil Thalaivas

In what is now remembered as his coming out party, Sehrawat sizzled on the mat in his second debut for the Bengaluru Bulls in Season 6 against the Tamil Thalaivas.

The Bengaluru Bulls raider scored two Super Raids in the first half and finished the contest with 20 raid points in just 15 attempts, helping Bengaluru Bulls emerge victorious by a scoreline of 48-37. Sehrawat would go on to score a league-high 282 points in Season 6 and win the MVP award.

Looking back in time, it’s hard to believe that Bengaluru Bulls?Pawan Sehrawat raided a total of just 24 times in Season 5 for the Gujarat Fortunegiants, scored just nine raid points and averaged just one point per game.

A footnote with the Fortunegiants, Sehrawat was repurchased in the Season 6 auction by the team that gave him his debut in the Pro Kabaddi league, and the raider repaid their faith with perhaps the greatest two-season run of any player in the history of the league.

At the start of Season 6, Sehrawat had 74 points in the Pro Kabaddi league and ranked seventh among points scorers in league history. Two seasons and 48 appearances later, Sehrawat is sixth all-time with 716 points to his name, ahead of names such as teammate Rohit Kumar, seven-year veteran Rishank Devadiga and retired superstar Anup Kumar.

Sehrawat has scored 642 points in the last two campaigns at a massive average of 13.4 points per game. To put this into perspective, only Pardeep Narwal has managed to average more points in a single season, let alone two, than Sehrawat has since Season 6. The Patna Pirates?skipper averaged 14.19 points per game in Season 5 when he scored 369 points in 26 matches. Sehrawat broke the single-season average raid-point record in Season 7 with 360 points in 24 matches ?an average of 14.42.

The Bengaluru Bulls ace is the only player with over 10 Super Raids in each of the past two campaigns and has scored 31 Super 10s - the most in the league, and one more than Pardeep Narwal and Dabang Delhi K.C.’s Naveen Kumar.

By winning the Best Raider award this season, Pawan joined Pardeep in becoming the only players in Pro Kabaddi history to have won the Most Valuable Player Award, the Best Raider award and the league title.

He has been hunting down Pardeep’s record one at a time and broke perhaps the most difficult one when he scored 39 points against Haryana Steelers, beating the Patna Pirates skipper’s previous mark of 34 that he set in Season 5.

With his performances since Season 6, Sehrawat may have equalled, if not surpassed, Pardeep Narwal as the best raider in Pro Kabaddi. Barring any injuries, Sehrawat is on course to add himself to the 1000-point club in Pro Kabaddi next season.

But, irrespective of what happens in Season 8, it is impossible to compare Sehrawat’s run in the past two seasons to any that was previously seen in the Pro Kabaddi league.

Jaipur Pink Panthers skipper Deepak Hooda has featured in all seven seasons of the Pro Kabaddi league and is the third-highest points scorer with 943.

Over the years, Hooda has shared the mat with some of the finest players in the history of the sport and on an Instagram live session, the all-rounder revealed his Pro Kabaddi Dream Team.

Hooda picked himself as the all-rounder in the side as well as the captain. Here’s the rest of the side:

Corners ?Surender Nada and Ravinder Pahal

For the Left Corner spot, Hooda went with Indian kabaddi stalwart Surender Nada.

Nada played for U Mumba for the first three seasons of the Pro Kabaddi league and won the title in Season 2. He then joined Bengaluru Bulls for a year before joining Haryana Steelers in Season 5 and captaining the side to a playoff appearance in their debut campaign. The veteran won the Best Defender Award after finishing Season 5 as the league’s leading tackle point scorer. Nada’s average of 3.13 tackle points per game is the second-highest among players over 70 appearances in the Pro Kabaddi league.

For the Right Corner spot, Hooda picked former Puneri Paltan teammate Ravinder Pahal. ‘The Hawk? as he is fondly known, is the second man to score 300 tackle points in the Pro Kabaddi league. Only Manjeet Chhillar (339) has scored more tackle points than Pahal (326) in the PKL.

Covers ?Parvesh Bhainswal and Sunil Kumar

For the two Cover positions, Hooda went with Gujarat Fortunegiants duo Parvesh Bhainswal and Sunil Kumar.

Parvesh and Sunil have been the heartbeat of the Fortunegiants since Season 5 and have scored and assisted more tackle points than any other duo since their debut. Parvesh holds the record for most points by a Cover defender with 86, while Sunil has the second-most with 76.

Raiders ?Naveen Kumar and Pawan Sehrawat

Reigning PKL MVP Naveen Kumar was one of the two raiders that Hooda picked in his Dream Team.

The Dabang Delhi K.C. youngster had an incredible debut campaign in Season 6 before embarking on a historic year in Season 7, where he became the third man to score 300 points in a season and smashed the record for most Super 10s in a row with an incredible 21 straight and counting. Naveen led Delhi to the final of PKL Season 7 where they were beaten by Bengal Warriors.

Pawan Sehrawat was the other raider that Hooda picked for his side.

The Bengaluru Bulls raider led his side to the title in Season 6 and was named the league MVP for his incredible campaign. Sehrawat followed that up with another brilliant season, scoring 360 points in Season 7, just nine short of Pardeep Narwal’s all-time record. The Hi-Flyer also set the new record for most points in a single game, with 39 against the Haryana Steelers. Sehrawat won the Best Raider award in Season 7, becoming just the second man to win the PKL title, the Best Raider Award as well as the MVP after Pardeep.
