The fifth and final day of eCricket Matches 2020 saw six games being played on Sunday, May 17. There were some memorable performances in the simulated reality league cricket tournament, and here we look at what transpired through the day and bring you the summary of each game.

WHITESHADOW (NZ) v LAUGHINGBUDDHA (ENG), Match 21: LaughingBuddha won by six wickets

WhiteShadow’s NZ were put to bat first by LaughingBuddha’s ENG, and the decision worked wonders. Jason Ray's sublime performance with the ball (3/3) restricted NZ to a paltry score of 39/6 while the likes of Jackson Bairstow and James Root guided LaughingBuddha to a six-wicket victory within 4.1 overs, despite losing two early wickets.

MAVERICK (PAK) v REAPERSSLAM (SA), Match 22: ReapersSlam won by five runs

After Quicky de Kock, Fabian du Plessis and JP Dominic failed to do the talking for ReapersSlam’s SA, Hanif Amla and Darren Miller stepped in to take their side from 12/3 to 40/5 in five overs against Maverick’s PAK.

SA, with a mingy score to protect, upped the ante with the ball as not just one or two, but their entire bowling line-up managed to restrict PAK to 35/9 after five overs. Only Mohd Hafiz managed to register a score in double digits (six-ball 14), and there were as many as five run-outs from their innings.

LAUGHINGBUDDHA (AUS) v RAGEHAV (IND), Match 23: Ragehav won by three runs

LaghingBuddha’s AUS, having won the toss and elected to bowl, became a victim of an absolute thrashing by IND’s openers. Rohan Sharma and Shikhar Dhaven stitched a partnership of 50 runs within four overs, with Ragehav’s side posting a score of 58/2 in five overs.

With the ball, Kailash Yadav, along with Hardik Pandey, stepped up to dislodge AUS’s top order. Midway through the third over, they were down to 11/7, and while they managed to step out of their misery, the best they could do was to score 55/8 in their allotted overs.

REAPERSSLAM (SL) v KINGSPIN (WI), Match 24: Match abandoned

Opting to bat against ReapersSlam’s SL in the 24th match of the simulated reality league cricket tournament, KingSpin’s WI posted a respectable score of 49/8 in five overs. The scoreline could have been totally different if it weren’t for Jivan Mendes and Milinda Siriwardane, who gave away just 13 runs and picked six wickets between them in two overs.

SL got off to a decent start in their chase, but the match was abandoned due to unforeseen circumstances.

LAUGHINGBUDDHA (IND) v WHITESHADOW (AUS), League A Final: LaughingBuddha won by four wickets

In an absolute humdinger, LaughingBuddha’s IND elected to bowl, and were duly punished by a hard-hitting Daniel Warner, who scored an unbeaten 52 in just 18 deliveries to guide WhiteShadow’s AUS to a total of 76/3 in five overs. Such was Warner’s reverberation that the second best-scoring batsman from his team was skipper Armand Finch, who had scored six off two deliveries.

IND needed a brilliant start in their chase, but two early wickets meant that the team was stuck at 18/2 after 1.1 overs. The likes of Hardik Pandey and Rohan Sharma steadied the ship before Rajindra Jadeja played his part in the process. MS Dhanraj’s five-ball 22 did the rest as IND achieved their target in 4.3 overs.

KINGSPIN (NZ) v MAVERICK (ENG), League B Final: Maverick won by six wickets

The second final presented equal drama as KingSpin’s NZ, who had won the toss, posted 55 on board in five overs. For Maverick’s ENG, Adil Rashed and Brad Stokes proved out to be the clinchers as they picked six wickets while conceding 17 runs between them in two overs.

For ENG, while they had a steady start, the game went right into the final over, where NZ captain Ken Williamson had saved his best bowler, Michael Sentner, for the death. Defending nine runs in the over, the spinner dislodged Jackson Bairstow and James Root off successive balls, but a maximum by Brad Stokes in the following delivery eventually sealed the game for Maverick.

The third day of eCricket Matches 2020 saw six games being played on Saturday, May 16. There were some memorable performances in the simulated reality league cricket tournament, and here we look at what transpired through the day and bring you the summary of each game.

LAUGHINGBUDDHA (WI) v WHITESHADOW (ENG), Match 15: WHITESHADOW won by 16 runs

Day 4 got rolling with yesterday's postponed match-up between LaughingBuddha's WI and Whiteshadow's ENG, with the former electing to field after winning the toss.

ENG put on an absolute clinic right off the bat, with opener James Butler delivering an unbeaten 16-ball 58 peppered with an incredible seven sixes and a four for good measure.  By the time WI adjusted their lines and lengths, it was too late. Butler's knock, backed up by commendable supporting performances from Jackson Bairstow and Jason Ray, helped ENG throw down the gauntlet for WI with a target of 86.

WI fronted a commendable fightback, hauling 41 from the opening two overs, but their attack petered out in the next three, leaving them high and dry with 69/7 on the board and having to accept defeat.

REAPERSSLAM (BAN) v MAVERICK (AFG), Match 16: MAVERICK won by three runs

A healthy bowling performance from ReapersSlam's BAN saw Maverick's AFG stifled to just 24/7. AFG's poor showing with the bat put the onus firmly on their bowlers in order to stave off a breezy BAN victory.

However, AFG surprised everyone. Never losing hope, their bowlers were on their A-game from the outset. Taking advantage of a cautious BAN mindset, AFG's bowlers nicely lulled them into a hole that BAN never could clamber out of, coming up short with a paltry 21/6 after the last ball was bowled.

RAGEHAV (AUS) v LAUGHINGBUDDHA (NZ), Match 17: RAGEHAV won by five runs

Ragehav's AUS opted to bat first and things did not get off to a swimming start, as a wicket fell on the very first ball, that of skipper Armand Finch. However, a steady trickle of runs and a last-ball six in an otherwise disastrous final over that saw three wickets fall, put AUS' score at 49/8.

AUS' bowlers fronted a healthy defence, particularly in overs 2-4 and taking two wickets in the first four balls of the innings. However, a grand six from Chris de Grandhomme on the fifth ball, followed by a wide delivery that resulted in a boundary, seemingly sealed AUS' fate, whittling the needed runs for NZ from seven to one! But fortunately for AUS, the last ball did not go for six and was legal, earning them a five-run win.

KINGSPIN (IND) v REAPERSSLAM (PAK), Match 18: KINGSPIN won by three wickets

Winning the toss and choosing to bat, ReapersSlam's PAK dragged their feet in the first four overs, with their score at 17/7 after 3.4 overs. However, they took it up a notch, scoring 23 in the next eight balls, setting a target of 41 for their arch-rivals KingSpin's IND!

That was no trouble for IND, who, thanks to consistent all-round performance, breezed their way to the target with three balls to spare. PAK tried hard with the ball but their fielders failed to match the bowlers' efforts, allowing IND to enjoy their third win in the tournament.

RAGEHAV (SA) v WHITESHADOW (ENG), Match 19: WHITESHADOW won by six wickets

Put to field first, Whiteshadow's ENG displayed a stellar bowling performance, grabbing the SA batsmen in a vice and restricting them to a disappointing 35/9.

SA's hopes were further confounded thanks to du Plessis' choice of bowlers, who gave away runs like free samples at the supermarket. This was highlighted particularly by Quincy de Kock's over, which saw a wide and three boundaries gifted to ENG, allowing them to reach the target without even needing to play the final over.

KINGSPIN (SL) v MAVERICK (WI), Match 20: KINGSPIN won by nine wickets

Maverick's WI seemed to lack intent throughout their innings, and combined with a devastating bowling volley from Kingspin's SL, WI saw their batting order dismantled to pieces. Picking nine wickets in a five-over game, SL reduced WI to just 29 on the scoreboard.

SL went on to put on a batting effort on par with their bowling, thrashing WI by nine wickets in the blink of an eye, with nearly three overs to spare.

The third day of eCricket Matches 2020 saw four games being played to completion on Friday, May 15. There were some memorable performances in the simulated reality league cricket tournament, and here we look at what transpired through the day and bring you the summary of each game.

LAUGHINGBUDDHA (BAN) v RAGEHAV (PAK), Match 11: LAUGHINGBUDDHA won by four wickets

A poor start belied PAK's final score but some heavy-hitting in the second half of the game propelled them to a total of 56 runs, with Baba Azem anchoring his side's innings with a knock sprinkled with a hat-trick of sixes.

With a bowling attack that has been just as potent so far in the tournament as their batting, it looked like a tough task for LaughingBuddha's BAN. However, BAN put on a lion-hearted performance, making it clear from the outset that the big target set by PAK was firmly in their sights, and some healthy tallies throughout the batting order saw them finish the chase successfully with three balls to spare.

REAPERSSLAM (AUS) v KINGSPIN (IND), Match 12 - KINGSPIN won by one wicket

After winning the toss and opting to bat, ReapersSlam's AUS, just like in the game against ENG earlier in the tournament, were crippled by a tight final over from Bhuvan Kumar giving away just four runs, setting the target at 42 for IND.

IND's highly experimental batting order that saw Rohan Sharma way down in No. 11 defied logic and looked like it might end up hurting them. However, despite huffing and puffing their way through the innings, a critical boundary by Sharma on the final ball, which was deemed an overthrow, saved IND from a tie and handed them the win.

WHITESHADOW (AFG) v RAGEHAV (SL), Match 13 - WHITESHADOW won by 11 runs

After being put to bat by Ragehav’s SL’s decision to field following their coin-toss win, Whiteshadow's AFG were slow off the blocks and never managed to gather any steam. With the exception of Kushal Perera, SL bowled really well, restricting AFG to 38/3.

It was quite a shock for all on attendance then when SL were unable to chase down AFG's modest total. It was down to some sensational bowling from AFG, with Dawlat Zedren setting the tone in the opening over and the others following the same tune. The fact that AFG's most expensive over was seven runs speaks for how tight their bowling was and therefore, it was not surprising that SL could only manage to pick up 28 runs before the overs ran out.

MAVERICK (NZ) v KINGSPIN (SA), Match 14 - Match abandoned

Maverick's NZ won the toss and opted to bat. However, after opener Callum Munro barely got a solitary run in NZ's kitty, the match was abandoned due to unforeseen circumstances and the next match has been shifted as well, to the start of Saturday’s line-up.

Don't be disappointed though as we will be back with more exciting action, starting as early as 0900 IST (0330 GMT) on Saturday, May 16!

The second day of eCricket Matches 2020 saw five games being played on Thursday, May 14. There were some memorable performances in the simulated reality league cricket tournament, and we look at what transpired through the day and bring you the summary of each game.

KINGSPIN (NZ) v REAPERSSLAM (PAK), Match 6: KINGSPIN won by seven wickets

Kingspin's NZ won the toss and chose to bat. However, all but two of their batsmen struggled to score more than a single run - Waqar Riaz, who put together eight runs off five balls, and Shahid Shah Afredi, who managed a six off the lone ball he faced, as ReapersSlam's PAK bowlers restricted PAK to just 28 runs in their five overs.

Despite some exceptional bowling, PAK's bowlers failed to return the favour. While NZ did employ a cautious approach, it paid off in the end. Opener Callum Munro starred for his side, with a seven-ball 17, and his effort was backed up nicely by Michael Sentner.

RAGEHAV (AFG) v WHITESHADOW (SL), Match 7: WHITESHADOW won by 10 wickets

Once again, opting to bat first failed to pay off, as this time, it was Ragehav's AFG who made the call. Carrying on from their first game, SL put up another stellar bowling performance, restricting AFG to just 24 in five overs.

With their task having been made simpler thanks to their bowlers, SL cruised to the win with more than an over to spare, as Kushal Perera and Laher Thirimanne put up an unbeaten 25-run stand.

KINGSPIN (IND) v MAVERICK (SA), Match 8: KINGSPIN won by seven wickets

For the third match in a row on the day, opting to bat first resulted in a bitter result, as Maverick's SA side came up short to Kingspin's IND. A brutal bowling attack from IND saw the SA side all out for a meagre 32 runs, with Rajesh Pant scalping three of SA's finest.

Not satisfied with being the star of the bowling effort, Rajesh Pant led the way with the bat as well and finished in style for IND with the most runs scored (11) among the experimental batting order.

WHITESHADOW (BAN) v LAUGHINGBUDDHA (WI), Match 9: LAUGHINGBUDDHA won by nine wickets

While Whiteshadow's BAN opted to bat first, LaughingBuddha's WI had the last laugh, as they effortlessly chased down BAN to win by nine wickets.

BAN never really got going, and they suffered particularly hard during the third over bowled by Andy Russel, when they lost four wickets. They somehow scraped together 39 runs, anchored by Shabbir Rahmen's seven-ball 12 contribution. It gave their bowlers had something to bowl toward.

All hopes were soon dashed as WI's top order got into action, with Shy Hope whacking off a hat-trick of sixes, including the finisher, and ending with an unbeaten 21 from seven and WI having nine balls and nine wickets to spare.

MAVERICK (AUS) v REAPERSSLAM (ENG) - Match 10: REAPERSSLAM won by seven wickets

It took until the final match of the day for a team to realise it was wiser to field first, and that's what ReaperSlam's ENG did in Match 10.

AUS's innings barely managed to pick up any steam, getting derailed constantly by wickets, with a particularly economic over from Moin Alee sealing up AUS' tally at 41/5.

However, it wasn't all plain sailing for ENG, as AUS fought back with the ball. Their effort went to heck in a handbasket during a horrible penultimate over by Glen Maxwall that saw AUS give away 21 runs and seal their fate. That set up a close finish, which went ENG's way thanks to an LBW from Pete Cummins to Ian Morgan on the final ball of the match, netting them the crucial 42-run target.

The first day of eCricket Matches 2020 saw five games being played on Wednesday, May 13. There were some memorable performances in the simulated reality league cricket tournament, and here we look at what transpired through the day and bring you the summary of each game.

WHITESHADOW (AUS) v RAGEHAV (NZ), Match 1: Match abandoned

Having won the toss and elected to bat, Whiteshadow’s AUS put on a spirited batting display, with their openers Daniel Warner and Armand Finch stitching a 29-run stand. However, once the latter was dismissed, Ragehav’s NZ built the momentum and picked two back-to-back wickets in just five deliveries to restrict AUS to 43/3.

With a dinky score to defend, the likes of Nelson Coulter-Nile and Pete Cummins brushed NZ’s batsmen with ease. The duo not only picked four wickets between them (two each), but also conceded a mere six runs in total. With the score standing at 28/7 after 4.1 overs, technical difficulties meant that the match was abandoned.

MAVERICK (AFG) v KINGSPIN (BAN), Match 2: KINGSPIN won by six wickets

Maverick’s AFG were put to bat first by Kingspin’s BAN in the second game of the simulated reality league cricket tournament. The trio of Mashrafe Morteza, Soumya Sarker and Shakib Al Hasen gave away just 11 runs between them and dismissed five AFG players in the span. A late blitz by Ikram Akhil (a five-ball 13), however, saved AFG from the blushes as they put on a decent total of 39/6 after five overs.

With the bat, BAN had a promising start and without much difficulties, they reached their target in four overs.

LAUGHINGBUDDHA (ENG) v WHITESHADOW (SA), Match 3: Match abandoned

Hard-hitting knocks by the likes of Moin Alee, Jason Ray and captain Ian Morgan saw Laughingbuddha’s ENG cruise to a sensational total of 57/6 in the five overs. For Whiteshadow’s SA, with the ball, Dwight Pretorious ended with the best economy (8) while also bagging a couple of scalps to his name.

With the bat, Quincy de Kock and Hanif Amla stitched a quick-fire 25-run stand for the opening wicket, and Darren Miller followed suit once the former was gone. At 43/2 after 3.4 overs, the tech gods caused a few upsets as the game was declared abandoned.

REAPERSSLAM (WI) v MAVERICK (SL), Match 4: MAVERICK won by 24 runs

Despite losing two wickets in the opening over, Maverick’s SL steered the ship to put 46/7 on board, courtesy Dinmuth Karunaratne and Ishan Udana. With the ball, the trio of Laseth Malinga, Jivan Mendes and Jeff Vandersay kept Reapersslam’s WI under the hood as despite Andy Russel’s 8-ball 12, WI were squared at 22/8 in five overs.

RAGEHAV (IND) v LAUGHINGBUDDHA (PAK), Match 5: LAUGHINGBUDDHA won by 7 runs

After Laughingbuddha’s PAK were 12/6 within three overs, the match looked set for Ragehav’s IND. The likes of Asif Alee and Iman Wasem, however, had other ideas, and with Waqar Riaz also contributing his bit, PAK were able to score 46/8 in five overs.

When IND came in to bat, a similar pattern followed. Both openers, Rohan Sharma and Shikhar Dhaven, were dismissed in the opening two overs while captain Viraj Kohli and Rajesh Pant failed to do the talking as well. MS Dhanraj did manage to shift the momentum, but it was too little too late as IND were restricted to just 39/5 in five overs.
