Since the inception of the Indian Super League (ISL) in 2014, there have been six ISL winners who have claimed the coveted title at least once.

In the previous editions, erstwhile ATK have been the most dominant team, having secured the title three times. Hyderabad FCChennaiyin FC, Bengaluru FC, Mumbai City  FC, and ATK Mohun Bagan are the other sides, which complete the ISL winners list.

Here are the ISL winners from every edition of Indian Super League:

ISL 2014 winner ?Atletico de Kolkata

In the inaugural season, ATK, formerly known as Atlético de Kolkata, were crowned the ISL season 1 winner as they defeated Kerala Blasters 1-0 in the final, courtesy an injury-time goal by Indian midfielder Mohammed Rafique.

Under head coach Antonio Lopez Habas and marquee player Luis Garcia, ATK had finished third in the ISL table at the end of the league stages, four points behind table-toppers Chennaiyin FC.

The 2014 season featured eight teams, each playing 14 matches during the regular season.

ISL 2015 winner ?Chennaiyin FC

After suffering heartbreak in the 2014 ISL semi-finals, Chennaiyin FC defeated FC Goa 3-2 in a mouth-watering 2015 ISL final at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa.

Chennaiyin FC had claimed the title with the help from their talisman Stiven Mendoza, who won the 'Hero of the League' award as well as the ISL Golden Boot, having scored 13 goals that season.

Interestingly, during the early stage of 2015 ISL season, Chennaiyin were placed last in the league table. The ?/span>Marina Machans?then won four consecutive games to qualify for the play-offs, finishing third in the point table.

ISL 2016 winner ?Atletico de Kolkata

In the 2016 edition of the Indian Super League, ATK secured the title for the second time after defeating Kerala Blasters in a nail-biting penalty shootout at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, Kerala.

With more than 80,000 fans in the stadium, Blasters took the lead in the 37th minute through Mohammed Rafi. However, just after seven minutes, Henrique Sereno equalised for ATK. With the score still at 1? after extra-time, the match eventually went into a penalty shootout.

ATK won the shoot-out 4? and became two-time champions courtesy some brilliant saves from their keeper Debjit Majumder.

ISL 2017-18 winner ?Chennaiyin FC

This was the year when All India Football Federation handed ISL the top-tier tag from Asian Football Confederation (AFC), replacing I-League

ISL expanded with the inclusion of Bengaluru FC and Jamshedpur FC, with a play-off slot to play for in the AFC Cup.

Under head coach John Gregory, Chennaiyin FC defeated Bengaluru FC 3-2 to claim their second ISL title at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.

Earlier in the league stages, Bengaluru FC had accumulated 40 points from their 18 games to finish eight points clear of Chennaiyin, who had finished second in the points table. Goa and Pune City were the other two teams who qualified for the 2017-18 ISL play-offs.

ISL 2018-19 winner ?Bengaluru FC

In the 2018-19 edition of the tournament, Sunil Chhetri-led Bengaluru FC were hot favourites to be crowned the ISL season 5 winner.

As it turned out, Bengaluru FC secured their maiden title by defeating FC Goa 1? in the final at Mumbai Football Arena. Bengaluru FC’s Rahul Bheke scored the winner from a corner in the 117th minute.

As in the earlier edition of the tournament, Bengaluru had topped the ISL league stages in 2018-19 season.

In the semi-finals, while Bengaluru defeated NorthEast United 4-2 in two legs, Goa thrashed Mumbai City 5-2.

ISL 2019-20 winner ?Atletico de Kolkata

Having experienced two disappointing seasons, ATK re-appointed Antonio Lopez Habas as their head coach for the 2019-20 ISL season.

The decision turned out to be successful as ATK became the first club to win the ISL thrice after they defeated Chennaiyin FC 3-1 in the 2019-20 ISL final.

In the finals, ATK goal-keeper Arindam Bhattacharya showed his class to help the white and red brigade clinch the coveted title.

For the champions, Roy Krishna and David Williams were the stand-out performers throughout the tournament.

ISL 2020-21 winner ?Mumbai City FC

Ahead of the seventh edition of the Indian Super League, FC Goa’s former head coach Sergio Lobera was handed the reins of Mumbai City FC to change the fortunes of the club. As it turned out, it was a masterstroke as Mumbai City FC won their maiden ISL title by defeating ATK Mohun Bagan 2-1 at the Fatorda Stadium.

The Islanders are only the second team, after Bengaluru FC in 2018-19, to finish on top of the league and win the final in the same season. Mumbai, thus, completed a rare double of winning the ISL title after clinching the League Winners Shield and securing a place in the 2022 AFC Champions League.

ISL 2021-22 winner ?Hyderabad FC

Hyderabad FC defeated Kerala Blasters FC 3-1 in the penalty shootout to clinch their maiden Indian Super League title at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Goa.

Under the tutelage of Manolo Márquez, Hyderabad had earlier finished second in the league phase with 38 points from 20 matches, five points behind table-toppers Jamshedpur FC. The Nizams later beat ATK Mohun Bagan 3-2 on aggregate in the ISL 2021-22 semi-finals to book their place in the final.

For Hyderabad FC, striker Bartholomew Ogbeche was the standout performer as he bagged the Golden Boot award by netting 18 goals in 20 matches.

ISL 2022-23 winner ?ATK Mohun Bagan

After finishing third in the league stage, ATK Mohun Bagan overcame Hyderabad FC via penalties over the two-legged semi-finals

They got the better of Bengaluru FC via penalties in the final at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa. Two goals from Dimitri Petratos - their top goal-scorer for the campaign- in the final against the Blues meant that the game ended at 2-2 at fulltime and eventually led to a penalty shootout, which the Mariners won 4-3.

ISL 2023-24 winner ?Mumbai City FC

Mumbai City FC clinched their second ISL title after beating Mohun Bagan Super Giant 3-1 in the 2023-24 final at the iconic Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.

Jason Cummings scored the opening goal of the match in the 44th minute to put Mohun Bagan ahead. However, goals from Jorge Pereyra Díaz, Bipin Singh Thounaojam and Jakub Vojtuš in the second half helped Mumbai City register a comprehensive win in the end.

ATK Mohun Bagan will lock horns with two-time champions Chennaiyin FC in their opening fixture of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-23 on October 10 at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan, Kolkata. The match is scheduled to commence at 7:30 PM IST.

The Mariners have been one of the standout performers in the last two seasons post the merger of ATK and Mohun Bagan FC into one entity, ATK Mohun Bagan. They finished as the runners-up in the 2020-21 season and reached the semi-finals last time out.

However, ATKMB have had an underwhelming start to their 2022-23 campaign as they got knocked out in the group stage of the recently-concluded Durand Cup. The Juan Ferrando-coached side will look to make amends and begin their ISL season on a winning note.

On the other hand, Chennaiyin FC failed to qualify for the knockout stage in each of the previous two ISL seasons. Nonetheless, they have made some quality additions to their side ahead of the Indian Super League 2022-23, besides retaining the services of captain Anirudh Thapa and other key players.

A new-look Marina Machans side will look to come out all guns blazing and re-establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the ISL yet again.

ATK Mohun Bagan vs Chennaiyin FC head-to-head in Indian Super League

Since the inception of ATK Mohun Bagan in 2020, the two teams have met four times with the Kolkata outfit winning on two occasions. The other two clashes ended in stalemates, leaving Chennaiyin FC winless in head-to-head record.

The ISL Golden Boot has traditionally been given to the highest goal-scorer in a particular Indian Super League season. In the seven years of ISL history, only one player - FC Goa’s Ferran Corominas - has won the award twice.

As we conclude the ISL 2021-22 season, we take a look at the list of all the ISL Golden Boot winners:

ISL 2021-22 Golden Boot winner - Bartholomew Ogbeche

Hyderabad FC forward Bartholomew Ogbeche won the Golden Boot award for the ISL 2021-22 season with 18 goals from 20 games. Ogbeche's incredible form helped Hyderabad FC clinch their maiden Indian Super League title by beating Kerala Blasters FC in the final. The 37-year-old Nigerian netted eight more goals than Igor Angulo of FC Goa and Jamshedpur FC's Greg Stewart, who scored 10 goals each in the tournament.

ISL 2020-21 Golden Boot winner - Igor Angulo

FC Goa forward Igor Angulo pipped ATK Mohun Bagan talisman Roy Krishna in his maiden ISL season to bag the Golden Boot award in ISL 7. Angulo scored 14 goals from 21 games just like Krishna but Angulo's better goal-per-minute ratio helped him win the award.

Meanwhile, Krishna missed the Golden Boot award by a whisker for the second consecutive year as he had scored a joint league-high of 15 goals but Nerijus Valskis had more assists. The criteria was, however, changed in ISL 2020-21 season as the goals per minute ratio was applied to break a tie.

ISL 2019-20 Golden Boot winner - Nerijus Valskis

Chennaiyin FC, who had finished fourth in the ISL table in the 2019-20 season league stages, will be grateful to the prolific Nerijus Valskis for their run to the final. The Lithuanian forward, who will play for Jamshedpur FC this season, had scored 15 goals to finish as the joint-highest goal-scorer in the 2019-20 ISL season.

However, with ATK Mohun Bagan’s Roy Krishna and Kerala Blasters?Bartholomew Ogbeche each with 15 goals to their name as well, the ISL rules had to dig deeper and identify the player with most assists to give away the ISL Golden Boot.

Interestingly, both Valskis and Krishna had netted 15 goals and provided six assists, which further narrowed down the final selection to the player playing fewer minutes. Valskis, who eventually walked away with the ISL Golden Boot award, had played 20 matches - one fewer than Krishna.

Ogbeche finished third with 15 goals and a solitary assist to his name in 18 games.

ISL 2018-19 Golden Boot winner - Ferran Corominas

Ferran Corominas, who is ISL’s all-time top scorer with 48 goals, claimed his second ISL Golden Boot in the 2018-19 season after scoring 16 goals in 20 games. The Spanish forward was significantly ahead of his competitors - Mumbai City FC’s Moudou Sougou and Bartholomew Ogbeche, then playing for NorthEast United. Both had notched 12 goals each in 18 games.

ISL 2017-18 Golden Boot winner - Ferran Corominas

Ferran Corominas is the only player in ISL’s history to have won two ISL Golden Boot awards and the first one came in his debut season. The Spaniard had joined FC Goa in 2017 after a brief stint in Cyprus, and it didn’t take long for him to assert his authority in India. In his debut season with the club, Coro outscored eventual-champions Bengaluru FC’s striking duo of Miku (15) and Suni Chhetri (14) by scoring 18 goals in 20 games.

A 34-year-old ISL debutant, Corominas had scored his maiden goal against Chennaiyin FC before going on to bag consecutive hat-tricks against Bengaluru FC (a 4-3 win) and Kerala Blasters (a 5-2 win) that season. His return of 18 goals in the campaign is, in fact, the most goals a player scored in a single ISL season.

ISL 2016 Golden Boot winner - Marcelinho

Marcelinho, who will be playing for his fourth club in ISL 2020-21, had scored 10 goals and assisted five times to win the ISL Golden Boot in 2016. Representing the now-defunct Delhi Dynamos, his effort had taken the team to the semi-finals after finishing third in the points table.

ISL only had eight teams in 2016 and Marcelinho’s closest competitor was Iain Hume of ATK. The Canadian international had scored seven goals in 14 games that season.

ISL 2015 Golden Boot winner - Stiven Mendoza

Chennaiyin FC forward Stiven Mendoza scored 13 goals in 16 appearances to run away with the ISL Golden Boot award in 2015. Iain Hume was the closest competitor with 11 goals.

Mendoza’s ability of taking on defenders and beating them with pace was a sheer treat for the Super Machans. It was at the back of his efforts that Chennaiyin FC finished third in the points table before going all the way to the final to face FC Goa.

Mendoza stepped up on the biggest stage to score the winner in the added minutes of the injury time to take home the title as well as the ISL Golden Boot award.

ISL 2014 Golden Boot winner - Elano

Elano was one of the marquee players to have played in the inaugural edition of the Indian Super League. The former Manchester City midfielder had arrived with much fanfare and he lived up to the hype as well.

Signing a three-month contract with Chennaiyin FC, Elano had announced his arrival with a sensational free-kick on his ISL debut against FC Goa. The carnage continued throughout the season as the Brazilian ended his tenure with eight goals in 11 games to finish as the top scorer of the 2014 edition, thus making him the first ISL Golden Boot winner.

The eighth edition of the Indian Super League is set to begin on November 19, 2021. 11 teams will compete in the country’s premier football competition, with the top four spots in the ISL points table a target for all the clubs with regards to AFC Champions League and AFC Cup playoff qualification.

This is because the qualification procedure of the ISL playoffs remains the same in ISL 2021-22.

How does the ISL points table work?

115 matches (110 league games + five playoffs) will be played over the course of the ISL campaign - all behind closed doors in Goa. The top four teams from the league stages will qualify for the ISL playoffs.

The team that will finish at the top of the ISL points table will be awarded the ISL League Winners Shield and will also earn a place in the AFC Champions League group stage.

Each ISL team will play the other twice in a round-robin format, which means each club will play 20 matches in the league stages. Their results will dictate what they earn:

  • Win: 3 points
  • Draw: 1 point
  • Loss: 0 points

The final position of a club in the standings will be determined by the points won during the league stage games. If two or more teams are level on points, the position in the standings will be decided by the following determining factors (in order):

  • Most points earned between the clubs head-to-head in the league stage
  • Superior goal difference between the clubs head-to-head in the league stage
  • Most goals scored between the clubs head-to-head in the league stage
  • Superior goal difference in all league matches
  • Most goals scored in all league matches
  • Highest fair play ranking
  • Drawing of lots

FC Goa and Kerala Blasters played out an entertaining 4-4 draw in match 109 of Indian Super League 2021-22 at GMC Bambolim Stadium in Goa on Sunday, March 6. With this stalemate, the Blasters qualified for the playoffs by ending the league phase on fourth spot while Goa ended their disappointing campaign in ninth place in the standings.

An already eliminated Chennaiyin FC (CFC) side take on a confident ATK Mohun Bagan (ATKMB) team in match 105 of the Indian Super League 2021-22 season at the Fatorda Stadium in Margao on Thursday, March 3. The match will kick off at 7:30 PM IST.

CFC vs ATKMB Dream11 prediction

It goes without saying that Juan Ferrando’s ATK Mohun Bagan start as favourites on Thursday. The Mariners haven’t lost a game in almost three months and while consecutive draws against Odisha FC and Kerala Blasters put a dent in their pursuit for top spot in the standings, they returned to winning ways in their last outing against Bengaluru. Chennaiyin FC, meanwhile, have lost four of their last five fixtures and will have their task cut out against ATKMB.

The head-to-head between the two teams since ATK’s merger with Mohun Bagan gives the Mariners a narrow edge over Chennaiyin FC. The Kolkata giants have won one of their previous three meetings while two matches, including this season’s opener, have ended without a winner.

CFC vs ATKMB Dream11 team tips for Indian Super League 2021-22

Top tip: Best forward

With Roy Krishna not really enjoying a great run of form, Liston Colaco becomes an automatic pick for a forward. The 23-year-old has netted eight goals in ISL 2021-22 which includes a solitary strike in a 1-1 draw against Chennaiyin when the two sides last met.

Top pick: Best midfielder

ATKMB’s Hugo Boumous did struggle with consistency midway through the season, but the French attacking midfielder is now back to his usual best, having made it to the Dream Team in two of his last three matches. The former Mumbai City FC star, who has five goals and five assists to his name this season, has accrued 712 fantasy points which is significantly more than any other midfielder involved in his game.

Top tip: Best defender and goalkeeper

Given the current run of form, ATKMB defender Tiri makes for a smart pick for this position. The 30-year-old has totalled 430 fantasy points so far and has made it to the Dream Team in each of his last nine appearances.

Finally, for a goalkeeper, ATKMB’s Amrinder Singh will be the safest option to go with as the former MCFC custodian is more likely to keep a clean sheet.

CFC vs ATKMB probable playing XI

CFC playing XI (probable): Debjit Majumder (goalkeeper), Reagan Singh, Narayan Das, Slavko Damjanovic, Deepak Devrani, Ninthoinganba Meetel, Anirudh Thapa (captain), Ariel Borysiuk, Vladimir Koman, Nerijus Valskis, Rahim Ali

ATKMB playing XI (probable): Amrinder Singh (goalkeeper); Pritam Kotal (captain), Sandesh Jhingan, Tiri, Subhasish Bose; Carl McHugh, Lenny Rodrigues, Hugo Boumous; Liston Colaco, Ashutosh Mehta, Manvir Singh

Kerala Blasters (KBFC) will take on Chennaiyin FC (CFC) in match 102 of Indian Super League 2021-22 at Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco da Gama, Goa on Saturday, February 26. The match will start at 7:30 PM IST.

KBFC vs CFC Dream11 prediction

Kerala Blasters, who sit one point outside the top four, know a win is crucial in their hopes to qualify for the ISL playoffs as they take on Chennaiyin FC in the Southern derby.

KBFC, who suffered a 2-1 defeat to table-toppers Hyderabad in their last outing, enter match 102 as slight favourites. The Blasters won the last meeting between the teams this season 3-0 and are aiming to do a double on Saturday.

As for Chennaiyin FC, they are winless in their last six league games. However, CFC lead the head-to-head record with six wins and four losses in 17 matches against KBFC. Based on current form though, KBFC will be the favourites for maximum points come Saturday.

KBFC vs CFC Dream11 team tips for Indian Super League 2021-22

Top tip: Best forward

Alvaro Vazquez has scored the most goals for Kerala Blasters in ISL 2021-22, with five goals in 17 matches. The Spanish forward has earned 521 fantasy points and will look to open his account against Chennaiyin in style.

Top tip: Best midfielder

Kerala Blasters?Adrian Luna is our recommendation for the midfielder spot. The KBFC captain has been the chief outlet of goals for his team this season, registering four goals and six assists in 17 games. With 795 fantasy points to his name, the Uruguayan is a proven match-winning player for fantasy players.

Top tip: Best defender and goalkeeper

Among the defenders, Slavko Damjanovic can be a handy pick in fantasy football teams. The CFC centre-back has been one of the best-perfoming defenders for Chennaiyin, registering 23 interceptions, 83 clearances and 41 blocks in 18 matches. The Serbian comes at a cost of 8.5 credits.

For the goalkeeper spot, Prabhsukhan Gill should be the preferred choice over CFC’s Debjit Majumder. Gill has kept the most clean sheets this season, five, and made 34 saves in 14 matches this term thus amassing 309 fantasy points in the process. Majumder, on the flip side, has kept just one clean sheet this term and will be tested heavily by KBFC’s forwards.

KBFC vs CFC probable playing XI

KBFC playing XI (probable): Prabhsukhan Gill (goalkeeper), Sanjeev Stalin, Bijoy V, Marko Leskovic, Sahal Samad, Adrian Luna (captain), Harmanjot Khabra, Ayush Adhikari, Lalthathanga Khawlhring, Chencho Gyeltshen, Alvaro Vazquez

CFC playing XI (probable): Debjit Majumder (goalkeeper), Reagan Singh, Narayan Das, Slavko Damjanovic, Deepak Devrani, Ninthoinganba Meetel, Anirudh Thapa (captain), Ariel Borysiuk, Vladimir Koman, Nerijus Valskis, Rahim Ali

Two-time champions Chennaiyin FC (CFC) take on Bengaluru FC (BFC) in match 72 of the Indian Super League 2021-22 season at the GMC Athletic Stadium in Bambolim on Wednesday, January 26. The fixture will kick off at 7:30 PM IST.

BFC vs CFC Dream11 prediction

Unbeaten since their 1-2 defeat to FC Goa last month, Bengaluru FC have scored 12 goals in their last six ISL games while conceding only seven. Despite that though, the Blues have only managed two victories as the other four games ended without a winner.

Chennaiyin FC, on the other hand, are battling for the final playoff berth and like BFC, have been extremely inconsistent in their recent outings. Come Wednesday, we expect this game to either end in a draw or BFC coming out victorious given their current form and past record against the Marina Machans.

The Bengaluru FC vs Chenaniyin FC head-to-head record has seen the Blues winning a total of five out of 10 meetings. CFC, on their part, have won just three. The Blues have, in fact, won four of their last six games against CFC while drawing twice. Chennai’s last win over Bengaluru dates back to February 2019.

BFC vs CFC Dream11 team tips for Indian Super League 2021-22

Top tip: Best forward

BFC’s Cleiton Silva is the outright pick for the striker spot in your fantasy team. The 34-year-old forward has scored five goals this season, resulting in a tally of 538 fantasy points. At 10 credits, Cleiton’s an expensive investment, but it goes without saying that he is worth every penny.

Top tip: Best midfielder

Selected by 93.65 per cent of fantasy players, CFC’s Vladimir Koman makes for a solid recommendation for this game. The former Sampdoria and Monaco midfielder has 478 fantasy points this season and has made it to the Dream Team in each of his last three outings.

Top tip: Best defender and goalkeeper

Naorem Roshan Singh of BFC has been selected by 75.39 per cent of fantasy players having been named in the Dream Team in four of his last five matches, accumulating a tally of 198 points from those fixtures. Needless to say, given the form he is in, the 22-year-old defender, who has provided five assists this season, should be picked ahead of anyone else.

Meanwhile, CFC’s Debjit Majumder would be our recommendation for a goalkeeper simply because of his return of 154 fantasy points from his last four outings. His tally is considerably better than BFC’s Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, who has not been enjoying the best of seasons.

BFC vs CFC probable playing XI

BFC playing XI (probable): Gurpreet Singh Sandhu (goalkeeper), Naorem Roshan Singh, Pratik Chaudhari, Alan Costa, Ashique Kuruniyan, Suresh Singh, Bruno Ramires, Danish Farooq Bhat, Prince Ibara, Cleiton Silva, Sunil Chhetri (captain)

CFC playing XI (probable): Debjit Majumder (goalkeeper), Sajid Dhot, Slavko Damjanovic, Narayan Das, Ninthoinganba Meetei, Anirudh Thapa (captain), Vladimir Koman, Edwin Vanspaul, Jerry Lalrinzuala, Mirlan Murzaev, Nerijus Valskis

Chennaiyin FC (CFC) take on Kerala Blasters (KBFC) in match 38 of the Indian Super League 2021-22 season at the Tilak Maidan in Vasco da Gama on Wednesday, December 22.

CFC vs KBFC Dream11 prediction

Fourth-placed Chennaiyin resume hostilities against Kerala Blasters for the first time this term. While Kerala are high on confidence following a shock 3-0 win over leaders Mumbai City FC, CFC ended their run of three games without a win with a 2-1 victory against Odisha FC.

The Chennaiyin FC vs Kerala Blasters head-to-head record is in favour of the former. In 16 meetings, CFC have six victories while KBFC have won on three occasions. The south Indian clubs have played out seven draws.

The recent clash between the clubs was a heated 1-1 draw, where four Chennaiyin players were cautioned and one player - Enes Sipovic - was sent off. Considering the H2H record, we reckon a convincing victory for Chennai.

CFC vs KBFC Dream11 team tips for Indian Super League 2021-22

Top tip: Best forward

Alvaro Vazquez starts as the top forward for the CFC vs KBFC match with 215 fantasy points. The Spaniard has three goals to his name so far and will look to appease his 71.5 per cent fantasy owners with a convincing display against Chennaiyin FC.

Top tip: Best midfielder

Adrian Luna is poised to dominate proceedings in the midfield engine room against CFC. The Uruguayan attacking midfielder has been involved in three goals in six games for Kerala, but will need to up the ante against the Marina Machans who have conceded just four goals so far in ISL 2021-22. With 242 fantasy points, Luna could be a differential ahead of Chennaiyin’s Vladimir Koman.

Top tip: Best defender and goalkeeper

Chennaiyin FC have one of the most shrewd defensive setups in ISL 2021-22 and will pin their hopes on Reagan Singh to help the Marina Machans register a clean sheet against Kerala Blasters. The Indian centre-back has registered 22 tackles, 13 interceptions and 25 clearances, and will need to be at his absolute best to deny KBFC’s attackers on Wednesday.

CFC’s Vishal Kaith stands out as a better goalkeeping choice for fantasy users. The 25-year-old custodian has kept just two clean sheets this term, while registering 15 saves. Kaith’s 154 fantasy points haul is way clear ahead of his competitor Albino Gomes (80) who was impressive against Mumbai in his last game.

CFC vs KBFC probable playing XI

CFC playing XI (probable): Vishal Kaith (goalkeeper); Ariel Borysiuk, Slavko Damjanovic, Narayan Das; Reagan Singh, Anirudh Thapa (captain), Vladimir Koman, Edwin Sydney Vanspaul, Jerry Lalrinzuala; Lallianzuala Chhangte, Lukasz Gikiewicz

KBFC playing XI (probable): Albino Gomes (goalkeeper); Harmanjot Khabra, Marko Leskovic, Enes Sipovic, Jessel Carneiro (captain); Vincy Barretto, Jeakson Singh, Ayush Adhikari, Sahal Abdul Samad; Adrian Luna, Alvaro Vazquez

Chennaiyin FC (CFC) take on Odisha FC (OFC) in match 33 of the Indian Super League 2021-22 season at Tilak Maidan in Vasco da Gama on Saturday, December 18.

CFC vs OFC Dream11 prediction

The upcoming fixture pits fourth-placed Odisha against fifth-placed Chennaiyin. Both teams are coming off defeats in the previous matchday, but OFC start as favourites against CFC on the account of goals scored (11).

The Chennaiyin FC vs Odisha FC head-to-head record is evenly poised. In four meetings, CFC and OFC have one win each, apart from two draws. The recent clash between the clubs saw Odisha secure a 2-1 win at home.

CFC vs OFC Dream11 team tips for Indian Super League 2021-22

Top tip: Best forward

Aridai Cabrera has been at the forefront of Odisha’s attack this term and is favoured as the top forward for fantasy players. The Spaniard has three goals to his name so far and will look to appease his 87.17 per cent fantasy owners with a convincing display against Chennaiyin FC.

Top tip: Best midfielder

If Odisha FC are to break through Chennaiyin’s defence, they will need the wizardry of Javi Hernandez in the midfield engine room. The Spaniard has three goals and two assists in five games, and has shown Odisha fans how much of a threat he is when influencing OFC’s attack. With 285 fantasy points, Hernandez is an undroppable choice for fantasy players in their midfield selections.

Top tip: Best defender and goalkeeper

Chennaiyin FC have one of the most shrewd defensive setups in ISL 2021-22, and will pin their hopes on Reagan Singh to help the Marina Machans register a clean sheet against Odisha FC. The Indian centre-back has registered 18 tackles, 12 interceptions and 19 clearances, and will have the chief task of shutting down any approach from OFC’s Aridai Cabrera.

While OFC’s Kamaljit Singh has the most fantasy points (135), CFC’s Vishal Kaith stands out as a better pick for fantasy users. The 25-year-old custodian - who has conceded three goals - has made 12 saves this term while his counterpart Kamaljit has clocked 11 saves.

CFC vs OFC probable playing XI

CFC playing XI (probable): Vishal Kaith (goalkeeper), Ariel Borysiuk, Slavko Damjanovic, Narayan Das, Reagan Singh, Anirudh Thapa (captain), Vladimir Koman, Edwin Sydney Vanspaul, Jerry Lalrinzuala, Lallianzuala Chhangte, Lukasz Gikiewicz

OFC playing XI (probable): Kamaljit Singh (goalkeeper), Hector Rodas, Lalruatthara, Victor Mongil, Henry Antonay, Javi Hernandez, Vinit Rai (captain), Isaac Vanmalsawma, Isak Vanlalruatfela, Jonathas, Aridai Cabrera

Defending champions Mumbai City FC (MCFC) will take on Chennaiyin FC (CFC) in the 30th match of the Indian Super League 2021-22 season at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Goa on Wednesday, December 15.

Under new head coach Des Buckingham, MCFC have been the most dominant side in the ongoing edition of ISL. The Islanders have won four of their five matches this season and are currently placed at the top of the ISL 2021-22 standings with 12 points.

Meanwhile, CFC are the only unbeaten team in the tournament, winning two matches and drawing their other two encounters so far. With eight points from four matches, Bozidar Bandovic’s side are currently fourth in the ISL standings.

MCFC vs CFC Dream11 prediction

Mumbai City FC and Chennaiyin FC have faced each other 14 times in the Indian Super League with the latter winning six encounters while the Islanders have secured five victories. Three matches have ended in stalemates. However, going by recent form, MCFC are poised to end the unbeaten run of CFC on Wednesday.

MCFC vs CFC Dream11 team tips for Indian Super League 2021-22

Top tip: Best forward

Picking Mumbai City FC talisman Igor Angulo in any fantasy football team is a no-brainer. The 37-year-old Spanish striker has netted five goals and provided one assist in five matches this season. Having already accumulated 344 fantasy points this ISL, Angulo is tipped to add more points to his tally against Chennaiyin.

Top tip: Best midfielder

Chennaiyin FC midfielder Vladimir Koman has been one of the standout foreign players in ISL 2021-22. The Ukrainian-born Hungarian footballer has controlled the tempo of games for Chennaiyin, helping the Marina Machans remain unbeaten in the tournament so far. Koman has already accrued 234 fantasy points this season and will be a key player for CFC against the defending champions on Wednesday.

Top tip: Best defender and goalkeeper

Mumbai City FC captain Mourtada Fall has once again been impressive for his side at the heart of the defence. The former FC Goa centre-back has formed a formidable partnership with Rahul Bheke and played an important role in MCFC’s campaign so far. Apart from his defensive credentials, Fall has scored two goals in the ongoing ISL.

Between the sticks, fantasy players should draft in Chennaiyin’s Vishal Kaith instead of Mohammad Nawaz of Mumbai city FC. The CFC goalkeeper has conceded just two goals in ISL 8 while also making eight saves in the league so far. At 8.5 credits, the 25-year-old could fetch you more points against a strong Mumbai City forward line.

MCFC vs CFC probable playing XI

MCFC playing XI (probable): Mohammad Nawaz (goalkeeper); Amey Ranawade, Mourtada Fall (captain), Rahul Bheke, Mandar Rao Desai; Ahmed Jahouh, Lalengmawia Ralte; Raynier Fernandes, Cassinho, Bipin Singh; Igor Angulo

CFC playing XI (probable): Vishal  Kaith (goalkeeper); Ariel Borysiuk, Slavko Damjanovic, Narayan Das; Reagan Singh, Anirudh Thapa (captain), Vladimir Koman, Edwin Sydney Vanspaul, Jerry Lalrinzuala; Lallianzuala Chhangte, Lukasz Gikiewicz
